Principal's update - 4 July 2025

Posted 4th July 2025

Dear families

I hope this message finds you well and you are looking forward to the weekend.

We've had an action-packed week with plenty of memorable moments:

  • Monday: Our Trust Sports Day was a fantastic event, with all 17 schools participating. Despite the 3-hour journey (M62 fun!), the performances from students were outstanding. We’ll share the winner as soon as we know! We also welcomed visitors from Australia.
  • Tuesday: Year 11 students enjoyed a well-deserved reward trip to Flamingo Land and behaved impeccably. Meanwhile, Year 10 students went on a field trip to Bridlington for their GCSE Geography coursework. We were also delighted to welcome Ms. Hibbert back from maternity leave.
  • Wednesday: We hosted colleagues from South Africa, who were very impressed with our student leaders.
  • Thursday and Friday: Year 6 students participated in transition visits, getting familiar with the school, meeting their new teachers, and building learning habits for September.

Next week is VERY busy with careers week being the highlight:

  • Careers Week: A huge array of activities, trips, and experiences are planned, including a visit to KPMG, various career talks, work experience opportunities, networking events, and career spotlights.
  • Tuesday: We will be welcoming new staff members to our school as part of their induction.
  • Friday: Our DUA Sports Day is scheduled, adding to the excitement of the week with forms competing against each other for the coveted prize!

I will finish this week's update with a plea. We've noticed that some families occupying the disabled bays at the end of school aren't displayed a blue badge. If you have a blue badge please do display it and park in these spaces, otherwise please use the main visitor car park.

Thank you everything so far year - two weeks left! Together, we are creating a vibrant and inspiring environment for our children to thrive. Let's continue to make every moment count!

Finally, please be reminded that we will hold our annual uniform pop-up shop on Monday 21 July from 9.30am to 3.30pm, where The School Uniform Shop and Wynsors shoes will be in attendance for you to make your uniform purchases. I have also attached to this email a 15% off voucher for Wynsors shoes which is valid up to 31 July.
