Careers Event

Posted 17th May 2024

Dear Families

As part of our ongoing commitment to support our students in their journey towards future success at university or a real alternative, this is a reminder about our upcoming Careers Information Evening.

Informed decision-making is fundamental in shaping the futures of our students, and we understand that it can be difficult to identify the next steps that may be right for your child. We are offering an opportunity for you to come in and ask any questions you may have about career options and how to succeed. The event is open to families of students in all year groups: whether your child is in year 7 and has their heart set on one career or in year 11 and not sure about their next steps, we are available to offer an insight on what might be right for them.

The event will take place in the Unity Community on Wednesday 22 May between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. There will be a short presentation covering post-16 options in the city, including apprenticeships, university and popular career routes and then an opportunity to speak to staff.

Students from the University of Leeds will be in attendance to discuss studying at the University. They will also be showcasing a virtual reality demonstration of the Born-in-Bradford project – the world’s largest study of children & young. Learn the story of this ground-breaking work and immerse yourself in this new technology which is the future of communication. We will also have representatives from Notre Dame and Leeds City College on hand to answer any questions you may have.

We believe that parental involvement plays a crucial role in guiding students towards fulfilling and rewarding future career paths. We look forward to welcoming you to our Careers Information Evening and working together to empower our students for success in their futures.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Clynes (sclynes@dixonsua.com) or contact the academy on 0113 512 5530.
