Principal's update - 10 October 2025

Posted 10th October 2025

Dear families

What an incredible week of activity and achievement across the academy!

Our sports teams have been out in full force with a packed schedule of fixtures. A special shout-out to some standout performances: Sophia and Millie showed real confidence in rugby, putting in vital tackles; Josef, Sam, and Jordi were absolute class acts in football, combining skill with fantastic attitudes; Jennifer led by example as captain, scoring some brilliant goals; Irene impressed with her determination to get stuck in; and Harry stepped up a year and delivered a strong performance—well done to all!

A big well done to Year 8 and Year 10 for completing their Cycle One assessments—your hard work and focus have been fantastic.

Beyond the pitch, our students have been exploring future opportunities. Year 11 attended the NextGen Roadshow, Year 10 enjoyed the Enrichment Festival, and we hosted our Year 11 Application Evening to help students prepare for college. Tonight, our Year 11 students head off for their Revision Weekend—a big thank you to staff for making this possible, and we hope everyone has a productive and enjoyable time.

Looking ahead to next week—the final week of term—there’s plenty to be excited about!

  • Sports fixtures: Our football and rugby teams will be back in action—good luck to all players representing the academy.
  • Pharmacy Experience Day: A fantastic opportunity for students interested in healthcare careers to gain insight into the profession.
  • World Food Day & Culture Day: Two brilliant events celebrating diversity and community. Students will have the chance to explore different cultures and cuisines—check our Facebook page for more details.
  • Family Feast on Friday: We’d love to see as many families as possible join us. Please sign up via the link and bring a dish to share—it’s always a highlight of the term!
  • Early finish: School will close at 12:30pm on Friday, so please adjust pick-up arrangements.

After that, we head into a two-week holiday, returning on Monday 3 November.

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s finish the term strong—every effort counts!
