Posted 12th December 2025
Dear families
What a fantastic week we’ve had at Dixons Unity! Christmas Jumper Day and our festive lunch were real highlights – thank you for supporting this tradition. It was brilliant to see so many students getting involved and helping raise funds for our community. We also enjoyed exciting sports fixtures in basketball and netball, plus enriching trips to Leeds Industrial Museum. A special mention for attendance – Wednesday saw the highest rate we’ve had in weeks! Let’s keep that momentum going into the final stretch.
Next week:
⚙️ Monday: Year 11 Data Afternoon – students finish at 12:30pm for staff training. This is an important opportunity for staff to review progress and plan next steps for Year 11 success. Please adjust pick-up arrangements. Free school meals will be available before students leave.
⚙️ Tuesday: Our Generation Together event brings students and older members of the community together for meaningful conversations and shared experiences – a great way to build understanding across generations. Plus, Year 9 take on local rivals Crawshaw in a football fixture that promises plenty of excitement!
⚙️ Wednesday: Sports Hall Athletics – a fantastic chance for our athletes to showcase their speed, strength, and teamwork. Good luck to everyone representing Dixons Unity!
⚙️ Thursday: A big day! We celebrate our highest-performing students at the Platinum Party – a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and commitment. In the evening, Year 11 families are invited to our Results and Revision Evening, where we’ll share mock results and provide strategies for success in the months ahead.
⚙️ Friday: The final day of term! We finish at 12:30pm, so please make arrangements for early pick-up. Let’s make this last day a positive one for everyone.
hank you for your continued support throughout this busy term. Every day in school matters – not just for learning, but for building confidence, and opportunities. Let’s finish the year with pride and positivity, ready to start 2026 on the best possible footing!
