Principal's Update 19 April 2024

Dear families

Welcome back to term 5 of this academic year, I hope that you have had a fantastic holiday.

What's been going on?
Over the holidays we have had an incredible amount of Year 11 intervention, community events and our Year 7 and Year 8 residential to North Yorkshire. I would like to publicly thank all staff who were involved in the planning and delivery of these sessions, events and trips and thank you as parents for supporting their success. I attended the Year 7 and Year 8 residential and can tell you that student conduct was absolutely fantastic and they found the experience to be very enjoyable!

Next week
The main event next week I would like to make you aware of is our Year 8 Option Evening. On Thursday, parents and students are invited to come in to school and find out about different subject areas that they can chose to begin to specialise in at the start of Year 9. More information has been provided so please check that letter and reach out to the school if you have any questions.

Also next week we have our Junior Maths Challenge which many of our younger students will be taking part in - historically we have done very well in this challenge!

Finally, for Year 7 parents, I would like to put on your radar that Progress Review Evening is coming up the week after next. Please do log on to to the booking system and book your appointments. If you have any questions please do reach out to our admin team who are situated in Main Reception.
