Principal's Update 2 May 2025

Posted 2nd May 2025

Dear families

What a beautiful week it has been, let's hope it continues in to our long weekend. I'll start with that reminder that we are off on Monday for bank holiday and will return on Tuesday for 8.18am in full school uniform and equipped to be ready to learn.

This week our Y11s began their final examinations with their Spanish speaking and BTEC IT. Next week ramps up with a number of other BTEC exams before GCSE examinations start the following week. This week we held our Y10 Review and Revision Evening with lots of families coming to find out about mock examinations and their progress. We also held the Junior Maths Challenge and the Unity Community celebrated its second birthday party!

I want to take a moment to celebrate a very special group of girls - our rugby team. This week they were crowned league winners and could progress to a final at Headingley Stadium in the coming days. These girls are incredibly hard working, resilient and dedicated to their sport and I am very proud of them.

Next week, as well as the BTEC examinations, we have a Prom Shop on Wednesday at 4pm. The Prom Shop contains nearly new items that are available to students. This helps both to save money and challenge our fast fashion society of wearing clothes once and throwing them out!

Finally, a huge thanks to families who continue to engage with the new entry and exit process. The bollards are now installed and students are well versed in the new system which is having a significant improvement on student safety.

Have a great long weekend, see you next time.

Mr Jacobs
