Principal's update - 21 November 2025
Posted 21st November 2025
Dear families
What a fantastic week it has been at Dixons Unity!
First, a huge well done to Year 11 for their incredible effort during mock exams. Attendance was the highest we’ve ever seen, and that commitment really matters. Teachers are now working hard to mark and provide feedback so students can learn and improve.
We’ve also had some brilliant successes beyond the classroom. Our 10-pin bowling team took 1st place out of 32 teams in the city competition – an amazing achievement! There were also several netball fixtures this week, and students showed great teamwork and resilience.
Another highlight was two full days of the National Enterprise Challenge. Our students were outstanding – creative, confident, and collaborative throughout.
Looking ahead:
- Next week brings BTEC assessments, so please keep attendance strong – every lesson counts.
- We have fixtures in rowing, football, athletics, and basketball coming up.
- Teachers are planning Cycle 2 enrichment, and we’d love your input – let us know what clubs you’d like to see.
- And don’t forget the Winter Fayre on Saturday 29th November – one of the best events of the year! Keep an eye out for more details… and yes, there are rumours Santa might make an appearance!
Thank you for your continued support.
