Principal's update - 26 September 2025

Posted 26th September 2025

Dear families

It’s been another busy and brilliant week at the academy.

On Wednesday, our Year 10 students took part in a Brook workshop focused on relationships and sex education. The session was incredibly valuable, and students engaged with maturity and respect throughout.

We’ve seen a strong turnout across enrichment and intervention sessions this week, with 100% attendance from Year 11 on Wednesday—a fantastic commitment to learning. A special mention to Baking Club, which continues to be a firm favourite among students. Huge thanks to Ms Barker for running such a popular and well-loved session each week.

Thursday’s Year 7 Settling-In Evening was also very well attended. It was a pleasure to meet so many families and hear how positively our Year 7s have settled in. Their enthusiasm and engagement have been a real highlight this term.

You’ll shortly receive Attitude to Learning (ATL) updates for Year 7 and Year 11 — please keep an eye out for these.

This morning, we hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, and I’m delighted to share that we raised a brilliant amount for charity. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Looking ahead to next week:

  • Year 8 and Year 10 assessments begin. Revision information has already been sent to parents — please encourage your child to prepare thoroughly.
  • Year 11 will take part in a second Brook education workshop on Thursday.
  • Also on Thursday, we’re holding our Paris Parents’ Evening with Ms Titorenko, where final details will be shared before we depart.
    Je suis ravi d’y aller moi-même !

A couple of reminders:

  • Lanyards are a compulsory part of our uniform and must be worn at all times. Replacements can be purchased from reception.
  • Please sign up for the MCAS app and follow our Facebook page — they’re the best ways to stay updated on your child’s experience at school.

And finally, if you’re watching Educating Yorkshire, keep an ear out — some of our Year 10 and Year 11 students are doing voiceovers for the adverts!

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.

Mr A Jacobs
