Principal's update - 4 September 2026

Dear families

Welcome back! I hope that the summer has been a vital charge to rest and recharge of all of our students. 

We are coming back in a stronger position than any previous year here at Dixons Unity Academy. Last year gave us our best ever attendance, our best ever behaviour, and our best ever exam results, and this year we will continue to build on that success and deliver the best learning environment for our families. I know that our staff, students and community will be working just as hard this year to ensure even greater success for our young people. 

There have been quite a few staff changes, and I'm sure you'll join me in welcoming the following new faces to our Unity Community:

• Miss Noor, academy administrator
• Miss Lee, English teacher
• Miss Murfin, English teacher
• Miss Lunn, Maths teacher
• Mr Pierre, Science teacher
• Miss Treip, Science teacher
• Miss Whitehead, PE teacher

We're also welcoming Miss Carr, Geography teacher, back after a year-long travelling break, and Mr Worrall is now our Head of Humanities. Additionally, Mrs Ingram, Maths teacher, should now be referred to as 'Miss', and she/her pronouns should be used.

Well done to all of our students for making such a strong start to the year. Next week will be our first full week back, and I look forward to seeing all of our students ready to throw themselves back into their learning.
