Principal's Update - 7 June 2024

Posted 7th June 2024

Dear families

I hope you had a great break and enjoyed some of the sun!

We've had a busy week of assessments this week but I am so proud of the behaviour and focus of our students - I am sure this will reflect in their outcomes.

Next week we are focussing on our Year 6 transition visits. If we do have any Year 6 families reading and/or watching this, then welcome, and we look forward to meeting you again in the coming weeks.

I have a couple of updates for your attention:

  • A number of families have been asking about if the rucksacks will remain the same next year so that they can be replaced. To confirm, students will have the same colour bag for the rest of their time at DUA, for example Year 9 will have orange until the end of Year 11. If you need to purchase a replacement bag then you can do so via Uniwears, our school uniform supplier. Their website can be found here.
  • We have a small number of students who arrive late to school each morning, punctuality is vital to success both now and in the future. A few minutes late each day can result in a lot of lost learning time over an academic year! Just as a reminder students should be in student reception by 7.56am. If a student arrives to school after 9.00am they will receive a 'U' code which equates to an unauthorised absence.

We have a number of exciting things coming up in the coming weeks so please keep an eye on the update to find out what's going on.
