Principal's Update 8 March 2024

Posted 8th March 2024

Dear families

I want to start by thanking you for your support with attendance. We have seen significant improvements, particularly since the start of January. and appreciate your support in driving this. We are still not where we want to be but if we continue to work together and make incremental improvements we will get there!

This week we have had the Year 11 students completing their mocks and I would like to commend them for their hard work and conduct. The results are beginning to filter through to me and so many students have moved up grades since the last mocks. The results and revision evening is coming up in a few weeks and results will be released to students at this time.

We have also had an excellent sporting week with football (though I won't mention the Year 11 result), table tennis and the new climbing club all thriving with huge numbers of students in attendance. We also had the Leeds United trip where our sports ambassadors saw Leeds win 1-0 at Elland Road. Finally our girls also attended the #getgirlsplaying football tournament which showcased fantastic footballers from across the city!

Next week we have a shortened week due to our data and planning days on Thursday and Friday - school will be closed to students on these days. Text reminders will be sent out early next week.

Finally I would also like to welcome our new Year 7 students who received their welcome letters this week. 200 of you will be joining us from September and we can't wait to meet you. The first opportunity for us to meet is at the welcome event at the beginning of May - I am very much looking forward to it!

Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Mr A Jacobs
