SENCo changes at Dixons Unity Academy

Posted 9th September 2024

Dear families

I hope this message finds you well.  My name is William Jackson, and I am writing to introduce myself as the new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) at Dixons Unity Academy.  I am honoured to take on this key role and to work alongside you in supporting your child's educational journey.

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the previous SENDCO, Megan McFarlane, for her outstanding dedication and commitment to our school and its pupils.  Megan’s hard work has laid a solid foundation, and I am eager to build on that legacy to ensure that every student continues to receive the support they need to thrive.

As a qualified SENDCo and having already gained two years of experience at Dixons Unity, I am fortunate to already know many of our amazing students and be familiar with their individual needs.  I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where all students can achieve their full potential.  My approach is centred around collaboration, and I believe that by working closely with parents, teachers, and support staff, we can provide the best possible outcomes for our students.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you and learning more about your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations.  Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions, concerns, or would simply like to introduce yourself.  Your insights and feedback are invaluable, and I am committed to being a supportive partner in your child’s education.

Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in our school.  Together, I am confident that we can continue to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for all our students.

Kind regards

Mr W Jackson
