Year 11 Results and Revision Evening March 2024
Dear Families
On Monday the 25 March, we will be hosting a Results and Revision Evening. There will be some specific guidance on how students can best revise in particular subjects, ideas on how to support your child and the chance to have individual conversations with Heads of Departments and class teachers. Students and their families will also be given the opportunity to collect their results.
The evening will start at 5pm and finish by 6.30pm. Staff will be around for informal discussions along with hot drinks from 4.45pm. It will be very useful for you to attend along with your child so that you can support your child at home throughout this important time in their school career.
Students who attend will be put into a draw to win Year 11 Prom tickets. Each teacher they visit will give out a raffle ticket, so the more teachers they talk to about learning, the greater chance they have of winning!
Thank you for all of the support you are giving your child as they prepare for their final examinations. The GCSE exams start on the 6 May, which means the lessons, intervention sessions, guided and independent revision that your child does between now and then is highly important for their success and for securing the further education of their choice. Thank you for encouraging your child to attend punctually every day and to take every revision opportunity.
Most students worked very hard in the build up to their last set of Mock exams, and their conduct during the examinations was very good. To continue to support them to make progress over these last few weeks of school, teachers will be using Mock Exam data and question level analysis to target gaps in their learning. Homework will continue to be set for all students in all subjects, and additional revision resources and guidance will also be issued. Students have also been given a revision timetable, which guides them through all of the necessary topics.
Intervention sessions after school for all students are as follows:
- Monday - Geography and History
